Performs the necessary leadership, facilitation, analysis and design tasks related to the development of an enterprise network security architecture.
Document current state, perform gap analysis and create target state for enterprise wide network and end point security
Understand, advocate and augment the principles of business and IT — and more specifically network security architecture — strategies
Design and lead the network security architecture domain by aligning business requirements and IT strategies, detecting critical deficiencies, and recommending solutions for continuous improvement
Document, recommend and review network security architecture projects (for example, business requirements, architectural design and build/operate artifacts)
Oversee and facilitate the evaluation, selection and design of network security technology complying with standards
Work with information security leadership and cross-functional teams to develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements and address identified risks
Involved in planning the delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members
Responsible for understanding industry standards/best practices
- Understands current Networking/Security industry trends and emerging technologies
Minimum of Bachelor’s degree and/or at least 10 years of relevant work experience
10 years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise wide technical solutions for network security, including but not limited to firewall, proxy services, VPN/remote access, load balancers, VOIP, RSA and intrusion detection/ prevention
Strong understanding in mobile/wireless security aspects, including Over-The-Air encryption, Jail Breaking/Rooting , Mobile Device Management (MDM) and BYOD planning
Enterprise wide CISCO Architecture Design experience
Strong understanding of various network protocols like TCP, IP, UDP, HTTP, FTP, ICMP, SMTP, POP3 and SSH
Work with various FOSS IDP/IPS, Netflow and protocol collection and analysis tools such as SNORT, Suricata, Bro, Argus, Silk, tcpdump and WireShark
Working knowledge of popular cryptography algorithms and protocols such as AES, SHA, RSA, Kerberos, SSL/TLS
Work with some COTS NIDS/NIPS or HIDS/HIPS tools such as CISCO SourceFire, McAfee IntruShield or Hewlett-Packard tipping point
Working knowledge of various log aggregation tools and SIEM tools such as ArcSight and SPLUNK
Demonstrates understanding of how to successfully work in cross functional organizations and impacts to schedules
Experience with end point threat management tools a plus
Experience with designing and implementing enterprise wide PKI solution a plus
Previous Enterprise Level Network Architect experience a must
Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Strong organizational and problem solving skills
Ability to mentor junior associates
CCNA is desired but not required
